Where every child matters

pupils at Simon Marks

“My daughter literally skips to school every morning, she is so happy. The teachers have made her feel very welcome and part of the Simon Marks family”

Welcome to our school

Simon Marks Jewish Primary School is a one-form entry, inclusive, modern orthodox Jewish school in Stoke Newington, London.  Our school is a community of learning and excellence where every child is cared for and valued. We welcome children from across the spectrum of Jewish practice and also from local families who are sympathetic to and respect the school’s Jewish and inclusive ethos.

Vision statement
We aim to inspire intellectual curiosity and to nurture our pupils’ confidence.  We set high expectations for behaviour and value creativity, spiritual understanding and the power of imagination, as well as academic and physical achievements.

We aim to prepare children for a changing world through wisdom ancient and modern, becoming familiar with sophisticated technology while learning from timeless Jewish values:

תורה עם דרך ארץ

‘Torah im derech eretz’
Torah with a worldly outlook

As a school, we are committed to the concept of lifelong learning by identifying opportunities for professional development, Jewish family education and community learning of a high standard.  Central to our success is the significance we attach to the relationships between the school, the parent body and the local community.

Above all, Simon Marks provides a warm and friendly Jewish environment where children of all backgrounds are welcomed and nurtured to realise their potential.
